The following is a Help Wanted ad that we found in The Suns news. It is an ad that one of our local HVAC competitors (who shall remain nameless) put in the newspaper asking for a “Barracuda Closer”. I think this ad shows how some of the locals businesses operate. All they care about is pushing the customer into something just to make money. It makes me sick that I lose work to people like this because I truly do care about my customers and that they are comfortable and feel good that they decide to work with me. I do not ever want my customers to feel pressured into a sale! I want them to walk away feeling good about their purchase and the work that the crew and I perform.

SANTEE COOPER GOOD CENTS PROGRAM

Many of our customers have purchased replacement systems using the Santee Cooper Good Cents loan program. A low-interest loan the (1.25% interest rate) from Santee Cooper allows you to finance energy efficient improvements and renewable energy resource projects for your home that should help you reduce your energy costs. You can apply for energy efficient improvement loans ranging from $500 to $20,000 with up to 60-months to repay loans over $1,000 or renewable energy resource loans up to $40,000 with up to 120-months to repay. All with no money down. Maximum outstanding loans per customer cannot exceed $20,000 for energy efficient loans and $40,000 for renewable energy resource loans. Combined maximum outstanding loans per customer cannot exceed $40,000.

J Madden Letter

We recently replaced The Maddens’ old system with a new 14 SEER Carrier system. The Maddens were very pleased with our work and wrote us one the nicest letters we have ever received. Thank you Mr. & Mrs. Madden!

Springs Towers Homeowners,

Upon my arrival to Springs Towers for the annual meeting there was no AC in the entire building and it was posted that it would be off for a couple hours which turned into days. I found that my Heat Pump Unit on the roof was so rusted that it needed replacement. I went over to Santee Cooper to find out about the Good Cents program. I was told that in order to be eligible for this program, it would be necessary to install a more energy efficient unit with a 14 seer minimum capacity.

I met with Farris Vereen who is the energy advisor for Santee Cooper. Mr. Vereen was most helpful and suggested that I contact at least three contractors from a list of Horry-Georgetown contractors participating in Santee Cooper’s energy efficient loan program.

I contacted and interviewed three contractors. I was told by the contractor that was hired by George Bigham (ST Project Manager) that the doors going onto the roof were too small to fit a 14 seer unit through them. TNT (the HVAC contractor doing the bulk of the work) told me that a crane would have to be hired to lift a 14 seer unit from the ground to the roof at a cost of over $950. (just for the crane).

The contractor that I finally decided to do the work was LHT Cooling, Heating & Refrigeration from North Myrtle Beach (843) 399-2765. Joseph Cornett and his workers did an excellent job of installing a new heat pump (Carrier), air handler (Carrier) and also a very good quality hot water heater (Bradford-White). I was most pleased with the work that they did from the time they arrived (they rolled out paper to keep the floor in my unit clean) to the time they finished. They were punctual, very professional, fair priced and offered many other benefits that the other companies I dealt with did not even mention. Farris Vereen from Santee Cooper was very impressed with their work when he made the final inspection after the work was completed. I thought I would share this information with all the other homeowners at Springs Towers in case sometime in the future you may need a reliable cooling, heating & refrigeration contractor.

And by the way, guess what!!! LHT Cooling, Heating and Refrigeration was able to provide me with a 14.5 seer unit without having to hire a crane in order to lift my unit from the street level to the roof. It fit through the roof door!

Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. I was very fortunate to have the job completed while I was there for the week (LHT completed the work in a little over a day) and I am very thankful I gave this company my business.

DiStefano Job

Mr. & Mrs. DiStefano replaced their old system with a Carrier 13 SEER Sea Coast heat pump system. Because the DiStefanos live in an ocean front condo in the Beach Club at Windy Hill, they got the sea coast coating on their heat pump to protect against the salt. No other manufacturer offers the sea coast coating at this time.

Carol and Annie are very happy with their new 15 SEER Carrier Infinity system. Carol likes the fact that she can sit out on her patio and have a conversation without all of the noise from the heat pump. Carol’s utility bill decreased more than 30%. She also financed her system thru the Santee Cooper Good Cents program. By using the Good Cents program you can receive an automatic discount on your electric bill, a lower price/kilowatt and an ultra low 3% interest rates on loans.

We just finished a job located in Carolina Shores, NC. We replaced the system with a Carrier Comfort Model 13 SEER 410A system. The Byrd’s financed their system thru Brunswick Electric Company and got a great, low interest rate with the BEMC program.
